Aug 9, 2006 (newstodate): In July, Finnair's cargo volumes increased by 5.5 percent, to a total of 7,508 tonnes.
The growth continues to be driven by the carrier's Asian traffic that constitutes the airline's key strategy.
Asian volumes were thus up by 31.5 percent to 4,316 tonnes, corresponding to 57.5 percent of the total volume lifted.
For the period January-July, totalAsian volumes were 25,597 tonnes, up 16.4 percent and corresponding to 48.5 percent of the period's total volume of 47,177 tonnes.
The volume during the first seven months of 2006 were up by 6.4 percent.
