Aug 31, 2006 (newstodate): Finnair is constantly developing its Far Eastern traffic planned to grow in the latter part of this year and next year by 30 per cent.
Flight frequency on the Delhi route, which begins with three flights a week at the end October, will be increased next spring to five flights a week.
This summer, the company's long-haul fleet of six aircraft was strengthened by two additional aircraft, and next year two new Airbus A340 wide-bodied aircraft will be introduced into Asian traffic. Plans are also to add two more A340 aircraft in 2008, dedicated to the Far Eastern services.
Finnair flies currently operates to nine destinations in Asia. In China, Finnair flies to Beijing and Shanghai daily, to Hong Kong five times a week and to Guangzhou four times a week. Japan is served by two flights nearly every day, the Japanese destinations being Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. Bangkok and Singapore are also served by daily flights. The Delhi route will open in October, followed by a route to Kuala Lumpur next spring.
