Aug 14, 2006 (newstodate): The Faroe Islands' Vagar Airport is seeing its cargo volumes up in 2006.
During January-July, the airport generated a total of 250.8 tonnes of cargo, up 17.3 percent on last year.
In July, volumes rose by 51.3 percent.
The increase reflects to increased traffic after the new airline, FaroeJet's start of operation from May 15, alongside the operations of Atlantic Airways on the routes between the Faroe Islands and Denmark.
