Aug 25, 2006 (newstodate): The Estonian carrier Enimex has placed orders for three ATP passsenger aircraft, but are not allowed to operate them.
-We have still not received the air worthiness certificates from the Estonian authorities that are not too skilled in these issues, but we hope to have the problems solved my the middle of September, says an Enimex spokesman.
The aircraft will operate on a long-term charter contract with a UN agency.
Two of the three ATP aircraft are now in Estonia while the third will be delivered by the end of the year.
The carrier also operates five AN-72 freighters, but in May this year the carrier had its licence to operate passenger flights revoked.
Enimex was contracted by Finnish company Soder Air to provide domestic chartered passenger flights with its AN-72 aircraft that was not, however, licensed for scheduled passenger flights.
