Aug 17, 2006 (newstodate): For Moscow Domodedovo Airport, imports alone are driving the growth in air cargo volumes.
For the first half of this year, the airport reports an over-all growth in volumes at eight percent to 58,641 tonnes.
While exports decreased by 10.2 percent to 33,226 tonnes, imports rose by no less than 47.1 percent to 25,415 tonnes.
Compared to last year's H1, import's share of the total volume thus increased from 31.8 to 43.3 percent during this year, while export dropped from 68.2 to 56.7 percent during H1, 2006.
