Aug 23, 2006 (newstodate): Polish airport Wroclaw plans to open a new passenger terminal by mid-2009, but the project costs are steadily increasing.
Originally budgetted at 450 million Polish Zloty, project costs are now approaching up to 700 million Zloty, sources say.
Behind the massive cost increase are new demands and specifications during the project detailing, but hopes are eventually to attract EU and state financing for up to 60 percent of total costs.
The design process is expected to be finally completed by the end of this year.
Plans are now to build a terminal with a capacity to handle some two million passengers by 2009.
