Aug 24, 2006 (newstodate): Commercial flights into Beirut, Lebanon, will probably not be allowed until the end of the month.
Among several carriers waiting for the go, Lufthansa had announced resumption of services from last week already.
The necessary permits were not issued, however, and a tentative date for resumption of traffic has now been set to August 31.
Two of the airport's three runways have been fully repaired, while work on the third will require some two months before completion.
