Aug 16, 2006 (newstodate): From August 15, BA World Cargo again accepts all new general cargo bookings on passenger aircraft across the BA network.
The carrier had previously restricted taking new bookings between August 10 to 15 for general freight needing to fly within the following 48 hours, though other bookings beyond the 48 hour window continued to be accepted.
BA World Cargo continued to honour existing bookings for general freight and also continued to handle and take bookings for premium products as well as honouring Block Space Agreements.
Throughout the general freight restrictions, BA World Cargo's facilities at Heathrow operated to 70 percent of their normal throughput, and flights were leaving full.
BA World Cargo's freighter and trucking operations were able to operate a full schedule all through the troubled period.
