Jul 6, 2006 (newstodate): By July 1, Montenegro Airlines and the Serb carrier JAT became international airlines as to operations in each other's airspace and territory, following on the recent separation of Serbia and Montenegro into two separate states.
As neither country allows for cabotage, the split will drive a shake-up of their formerly domestic route networks.
Thus Montenegro Airlines has announced that it will discontinue services from the Serb destinations Belgrade and Nis to Zurich, and JAT may have to stop flights out of Podgorica and Tivat.
