Jul 31, 2006 (newstodate): Taking effect from March 19, 2005, Finnair plans to return its services between Helsinki and Lisbon.
The airline will operate the route three times weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft.
Flights on the route have been suspended since October 23, 1994.
-The main driver for reopening the route is the growing market for traffic between destinations in the Far East and Portugal, and with the influx of new small Embraer aircraft to serve short-range routes we how have the capacity of larger aircraft to add more European destinations as well, says a Finnair communications spokeswoman.
