Jul 6, 2006 (newstodate): In May, Copenhagen Airport generated a total of 29,994 tonnes of cargo, up 2.1 percent y-o-y.
Transfer cargo was up 5.6 percent to 22,667 tonnes, and imports were up by 7.7 percent to 3,618 tonnes, while exports dropped by 18.3 percent to 3,709 tonnes.
For the period January-May, the totals were 149,242 tonnes, up 5.6 percent on last year.
Again, transfer cargo topped with 112,819 tonnes up 12 percent, while exports fell by 24.7 percent to 18,201 tonnes, and imports were up 11 percent to 18,222 tonnes.
The significant decreases in export volumes may be due to increasing bypassing of the airport by airline trucking services to continental airports.
