Jun 30, 2006 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines THY this week received two more B737-800 aircraft as part of its massive fleet build-up.
The airline now has 92 aircraft, 53 of which are manufactured by Boeing.
The airline plans to take in a total of 59 new aircraft during the period 2005-2008, including six in 2005, 22 in 2006, 12 in 2007, and 19 in 2008.
The new aircraft deliveries will comprise 23 Boeing 737-800, 19 A320-200, 12 A321-200, and five A330-200 aircraft.
With the new acquisition and including a number of aircraft retirements, THY plans to have a fleet of more than 100 aircraft by the end of the planning period, with an average age of six years.
Also included in the plans is the acquisition of five A340 aircraft currently leased by the airline.
