Jun 2, 2006 (newstodate): The JV between Swissport and Ukraine International Airlines to jointly operate the Interavia ground handling company was formally cleared to start operations at Kiev Boryspil Airport from June 1.
-The final papers and authorisations were delivered the day before, and we are now opening up, says Mark Skinner, Swissport VP Business Development and Projects, Division Europe, Asia, Africa and Middle East.
-We are shortly to announce the appointment of a CEO for Interavia, and we will dispatch a few Swissport specialists to supervise issues including procedures and quality management to facilitate the start-up.
Interavia is currently providing passenger handling services at Kiev to a total of 23 airlines, including KLM, Air France, British Airways and Alitalia, but Swissport is keen to see more airline customers to sign handling contracts.
