Jun 13, 2006 (newstodate): The future of the proposed JV between India's SpiceJet and the bankrupt Swedish carrier Swe-Fly remains undecided.
-We are still not able to report on the final financing of the JV, says the Swedish lawfirm handling Swe-Fly's bankruptcy.
-The reason is the unexpectedly long delay by the Indian authorities in resolving on our request for traffic rights in India, whereas the Swedish permits have long been on hand.
-This uncertainty has had its impact on the issues of financing, but we still reckon the project will proceed as planned, albeit suffering from this delay.
The planned JV will reportedly comprise inercontiental routes from India via Stockholm, Sweden, to destination in the UK and North America.
