Jun 15, 2006 (newstodate): The Swedish defunct airline Swe-Fly has now obtained Indian traffic rights.
On May 25, the Swedish and Indian governments confirmed Swe-Fly's traffic rights, clearing the way for the next steps towards realising the intended JV between Swe-Fly and SpiceJet for flights on a route network to comprise traffic between India and the UK/USA via Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden.
The project now hinges on the payment of a loan to enable Swe-Fly to refund its creditors after which the carrier can start to operate again.
A new deadline for this refund is June 23, but the current global economic fluctuations may have an influence on the realisation of the loan earlier granted.
