Jun 20, 2006 (newstodate): From September 17, Cathay Pacific Cargo will introduce a new freighter service from Stockholm Arlanda via Dubai to Hong Kong.
-We are happy to see this newcomer to Scandinavia and are convinced that the strong CX Cargo image will attract much attention in the Swedish and Scandinavian market, says Jrgen Westh, Cubic Air Cargo manager.
The SAS Cargo business unit Cubic, formerly Maersk Air Cargo, serves as CX Cargo's GSA in all Scandinavian markets.
The eastbound market for the freighter service will expectedly attract shipments of electronics, telecommunication equipment and pharmaceutical products, but the route is basically ex-China exports driven.
-Although we have of course not had any influence on the choice of destination in Scandinavia, I am convinced that given the relative scarcity of frighter operations at Stockholm Arlanda the choice will meet much attention and support in the Swedish markets, says Mr Westh.
