Jun 20, 2006 (newstodate): On June 9, Bulgaria's transport minister signed the agreement on the European Common Aviation Area, ECAA, and the Bulgarian Parliament is now expected to ratify the agreement within two months.
After the enactment of the treaty, Bulgarian air carriers will have unlimited commercial rights to service any destination in the signatory countries, and the number of carriers offering services to and from Bulgaria is expected to increase, resulting in growing volumes of air passengers and air cargo.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Iceland, Macedonia, Norway, Romania and the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo have also signed the EU agreement on a Single European Sky.
