Jun 21, 2006 (newstodate): Serbia and Montenegro's Pristina Airport in Kosovo has landed a "2nd ACI Best European Airports Award".
The airport came out as the best in its category of airports with less than one million passengers.
The glory is bestowed on Pristina Airport on the basis of "overcoming adversity to prepare a gateway for the economic redevelopment of the state of Kosovo", the jury says.
Earlier this year EBRD promised to support the continued development of Serbia and Montenegro's Pristina Airport.
The institution will provide a non-sovereign loan to EUR 18 million to allow Pristina to achieve compliance with International Safety and Operational Standards for airports and to respond to the passenger traffic growth.
