Jun 29, 2006 (newstodate): The Russian nationwide air taxi company Dexter is now in the air with its first batch of six aircraft.
From July 15, the company will offer taxi flights on a route network comprising Moscow-Nizhniy Novgorod, Nizhniy Novgorod-Samara, Kazan-Samara, and Nizhniy Novgorod-Kazan.
The routes will be operated daily with small six-seater M-101T aircraft produced by Sukhoi, at Nizhniy Novgorod.
A fleet of 45, eventually up to 200, aircraft is planned, and in its initial stage till 2007 the Dexter project will cover Russia's central, Volga, and North-Western federal districts.
The Dexter project, supported by IFC, is implemented by Air Transport Systems, the fleet owner based in Nizhniy Novgorod, and Moscow-based Air Management Group, the fleet operator.
