Jun 22, 2006 (newstodate): Taking its name from its main shareholder, Juhani Peltonen, Logimix owner and CEO, JP Air will be launched as a new airline by November 1 this year.
-We are now in the market for one Boeing 757-200 aircraft, and will add one more aircraft during the winter preparing for the summer season, says Markos Argyros, JP Air managing director.
JP Air will target the commercial charter market and also serve Logimix with transport capacity for its Swedish and Finnish military customers.
-The Boeing 757-200 aircraft is ideal for long-haul operations, but we will also add MD-83 aircraft at a later stage to serve tour operators with flights to European destinations, says Mr Argyros.
The aircraft will be based in Helsinki, and besides a JP Air office already established at Athens, Greece, the head office will be set up in Tallinn, Estonia.
At a later stage, after consolidation of the passenger charter business, JP Air may add air cargo a new business area.
