As a result, the airspace around the airport has been downgraded to Class G, or uncontrolled airspace, and only Flight Information Service is currently being provided, generated by by non-ATC qualified trainees.
The ongoing industrial dispute between controllers at Pristina Airport and the ATS management has resulted in all but one air traffic controller being dismissed.
IFATCA has urged authorities at Pristina Airport to return the 15 qualified and experienced air traffic controllers to the job, and encourages both parties to come to an amicable agreement.
