Jun 21, 2006 (newstodate): Italy and Russia have signed an agreement on extensive cooperation for the Russian Regional Jet, RRJ.
The agreement includes design, development, production, sale and technical support of the aircraft, due to fly by November 2006 and entering commercial service by 2008.
The aircraft that comes in six versions for 60-95 passengers and various ranges will meet Western standards of safety and environmental impact.
The total market for the RRJ is estimated to be around 5,500 aircraft with 35 percent sold in North America, 25 percent in Europe, 10 percent in Talin America, and seven percent in Russia.
