Jun 6, 2006 (newstodate): IATA has awarded its 2006 Eagle Award to the Air Navigation Services Division of LFV of Sweden.
The Air Navigation Services Division of LFV received its award for achieving efficiencies that enabled it to reduce its unit rate by 17 percent in 2006, and for average annual reductions of 6.6 percent for four consecutive years.
-We congratulate LFV for its tremendous efforts to improve efficiency while maintaining high levels of service. Importantly, we recognise LFV for its future vision that extends beyond its borders in the first Functional Airspace Block prior to the Single European Sky and its technical and procurement collaborations, says Giovanni Bisignani, IATA's Director General and CEO.
Also awarded was Manchester Airport plc for its high level of performance agreed to in Service Level Agreements with its customers, and for reducing the average cost per passenger by 38 percent over the last four years.
