Jun 1, 2006 (newstodate): Ljubljana Airport, Slovenia, has landed an agreement with DHL Express on the construction and long-term lease of facilities at the airport.
Based on the contract, DHL Express will locate all of its operations in Slovenia at a new facility to be built at the airport.
The new facility will be the first structure to be set up in the new commercial-logistics zone, integral part of Ljubljana Airport's strategy to increase its cargo traffic.
In 2005 Ljubljana Airport generated some 11,750 tonnes of air cargo, down two percent.
The airport, however, expects to see a four percent increase in volumes in 2006.
