Jun 9, 2006 (newstodate): The privately-owned Bulgarian carrier Hemus Air is determined to take part in the race for Bulgaria Air's privatisation this year.
From the start Hemus Air has stressed its intentions to seek control of Bulgaria Air as part of a strategy to merge the two airlines into one entite with sufficient critical mass and financial strenght to become a viable contender for the air traffic market in the region.
The visions of Hemus Air comprises the formation of a medium-size European carrier with a fleet of 20 aircraft serving a route network with up to 30 destinations, sources say.
The deadlines for entering the privatisation tender have not yet been announced, but the process will reportedly be completed before the end of this year.
