Jun 2, 2006 (newstodate): In May, Billund Airport saw its cargo volumes up 4.1 percent, to 4,320 tonnes.
The growth was driven by an increase in exports by 7.4 percent, to a total of 2.390 tonnes.
For the period January-May, the airport notes a decline by 1.4 percent, to 21,584 tonnes, after a fall in export volumes by 7.4 percent to 10,600 tonnes.
This is primarily due to the unusual high export traffic in the beginning of last year, driven by Asian Tsunami relief flights from the airport.
