May 16, 2006 (newstodate): From May 24, Continental Airlines is online at Copenhagen Airport with a daily nonstop service.
Operating a Boeing 757-200 on the route, the carrier's cargo capacity will be limited to 1-1.5 tonnes, allowing for only small, primarily time-demanding shipments.
Larger shipments will therefore continue to be routed from Denmark by truck to Amsterdam or London to be loaded on Continental's Boeing 767 services.
Representing Continental Airline Cargo in the Scandinavian markets is Kales Airline Services, while the handling of Continental's cargo has been contracted to the newly-opened WFS terminal at Copenhagen Airport that also handles the cargo of the airport's other US newcomer from this summer, Delta Air Lines.
