May 9, 2006 (newstodate): The Icelandic travel and air transportation company TransAtlantic has secured a two-years prolongation of its contract for air transport of dam construction workers between Iceland and Lithuania.
Under the contract, TransAtlantic has chartered a Boeing 737-300 from the Lithuanian airline Aurela to fly between Vilnius and Egilsstadir, Iceland, via Copenhagen Airport.
TransAtlantic operates some 40 flights per year on the route between Copenhagen and Iceland, serving the routes on a weekly basis most of the year, and twice-weekly during the winter period.
