Passenger volumes were up 25 percent to 94,222, and aircraft operations increased by 15 percent, y-o-y, to 866.
Also air cargo volumes were up by 15 percent to a total of 337 tonnes, generated by airlines including primarily UTair, S7 Airlines, Dalavia, Lufthansa, and KrasAir.
The airport is increasingly used as a transiting hub for traffic particularly between Frankfurt, Sharjah, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Nizhnevartovsk, and Rostov.
During the first four months of the year the number of passengers handled at Kurumoch International Airport amounted to 259,832 in 2004, increasing in 2005 to 263,905, and in 2006 reaching 317,108.
