May 22, 2006 (newstodate): The Boeing 787 Dreamliner team has completed 25 percent of the releases required for the program, the company says.
This means that one quarter of the pieces of information to build parts and tools for assembly have been completed and released to manufacturing organizations for fabrication or procurement.
To start delivery by 2008, the Dreamliner has vastly outsold its competitor, the Airbus A350 that has now been poised for redesign after failing to meet its market's demands.
29 airlines have so far logged 393 orders and commitments worth more than UDS55 billion at current list prices since the 787 launch in April 2004.
