May 18, 2006 (newstodate): With effect from May 21, Singapore Airlines Cargo will change the routing for its once-weekly ex-Chicago flight via Copenhagen from Delhi to Madras, continuing as before to Singapore.
The carrier's other Copenhagen-India routing will remain destined for Bangalore, as before.
-Bangalore has clearly fulfilled our expectations on the ex-Denmark export side, mainly driven by Nordic telecom exports, and also generated much cargo to Singapore and beyond, says Kim Irmov, Singapore Airlines Cargo regional manager Nordic and Baltic region.
-Delhi, however, has not fully lived up to expectations, and in tune with our continuous monitoring of the market we have thus decided to relocate operations to Madras instead to test this destination's potentials.
-With only once-weekly operations in both cases we of course rely heavily on our main European gateway at Brussels that has several daily freighter connections to and from Singapore. With this flexibility we are able to take prompt action in response to changing market situations and new options arising, he says.
