May 26, 2006 (newstodate): A project for a freighter service to lift Icelandic fish exports to European markets is taking shape.
Behind the project are fish exporters that would go for a weekly 30-35 tonnes freighter service, or alternatively a twice-weekly 15 tonnes services.
Earlier projects have stranded on the harsh reality that the profitability of the projected service will be hampered by empty return flights from Europe.
The project group is currently in the market for chartering a suitable aircraft.
