May 30, 2006 (newstodate): German charter and scheduled airline Blue Wings, with home base at Dusseldorf, is reportedly assessing potentials for setting up a new base in Russia.
The carrier is currently looking at three options, including Nizhny Novgorod, to serve as the hub for international and regional routes.
Blue Wings already operates scheduled routes to Moscow and St Petersburg, and a new Russian hub would also serve to provide maintenance of its Airbus A320 aircraft, sources say.
Blue Wings, however, maintains a "no comment" attitude to newstodate's inquiries.
