May 30, 2006 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo has named the Russian company Aeroteknology its cargo GSA in the Russian market.
Aeroteknology is part of the Finnish/Russian Transphere Group and has already been serving as Finnair Cargo GSA in St Petersburg area, while the Moscow region is currently covered by Finnair Cargo's own office.
-Naming one GSA to cover all of Russia is essentially a streamlining of our cargo marketing and sales in Russia, says Timo Rihiimakki, Finnair Cargo VP Global Sales.
Finnair Cargo offers Russian exporters connections via Helsinki to North America and the Far East, with a mix of trucking and belly capacity from Russia to Helsinki, connecting to onward flights on the carrier's route network.
Sources say Finnair Cargo last year generated about 500 tonnes of ex-Russia exports.
