May 17, 2006 (newstodate): FaroeJet did get airborne as planned from May 15 between the Faroe Islands and Copenhagen Airport- but without air cargo.
-Unfortunately we had not been assigned the ICAO prefix for issuing own AWBS, and were required to negotiate bi-lateral agreements with other carrier for interlining before this can be concluded, says Petur Rasmussen, FaroeJet manager ground operations & charter sales.
According to Mr Rasmussen the air cargo business will be launched by next week, opening the venue for marketing and sales of the new carrier's cargo products by its GSA in Denmark, ProActive Airline Services.
