May 29, 2006 (newstodate): Ural Airlines is building Ekaterinburg as a new tranfer hub for domestic and international flights.
The carrier has located a total of routes at Ekaterinburg, including flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Mineral Vody, Sochi, Anapa, Krasnodar, Simferopol, Odessa, Prague, Irkutsk, Bratsk, Chita, Novosibirsk, Yakutsk, Khabarovsk, connecting with Austrian Airlines services to Vienna, to Syktyvkar by KomiInteravia, to Surgut by Surgut Airlines, to Khanty-Mansiysk by UTair, and to Rostov by Rostov Airlines.
The Ekaterinburg-hub will compete for transfer traffic with Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk and Samara.
