May 16, 2006 (newstodate): The Croatian government seems unwilling to privatise Zagreb Airport.
The airport is owned by the government, 55 percent, the city of Zagreb, 35 percent, the city of Vellika Goric a, five percent, and Zagreb County, five percent.
Facing the need to finance the ongoing construction of a new passenger terminal, the airport aims at raising the funds itself through commercial bank loan agreements, and the airport will also manage the construction process itself, rather than embarking on a policy of concesssions to foreign investors.
