May 8, 2006 (newstodate): The Armenian carrier Armavia that was hit by a disaster last week when an Airbus A320 crashed near Sochi has lost a second A320 reserve aircraft in a hangar fire at Brussels Zaventem Airport.
Before the two accidents, Armava operated a fleet of three Airbus A320 and two A319, one IL-86, one YAK-42 and one YAK-40 aircraft.
The carrier is now seeking a lease of three Airbus A320 aircraft to sustain its traffic program.
One A320 is expected to be delivered this week, with two more to follow shortly.
