Apr 21, 2006 (newstodate): In 2006, Latvian Riga Airport plans to extend its 2,550 m runway.
By adding a further 550 meter to reach 2,300 m, the airport will facilitage operations by larger aircraft, in line with its strategic target of reaching 10 million passengers by 2010 compared to the 1.9 million served in 2005.
The airport expects to reach a total of 2.6 million passengers in 2006.
