Apr 28, 2006 (newstodate): -The new management at Ferihegy inherited a company that is over-staffed and with low levels of productivity, making this airport very expensive for airlines to operate from: in fact, we are currently the most expensive airport in Central Europe, says Chris Woodruff, Budapest Ferihegy Airport CEO, in a statement.
In consequence, the airport has announced its intention to sack up to 80 staff in coming months, mainly among management and administrative grades.
-We have reduced our charges to airlines this year by 5 percent, but we must continue to reduce costs and charges if we are to compete for growth, he says.
