Apr 18, 2006 (newstodate): Within the next two years, Lithuanian carrier flyLAL, owned by the Swedish FlyMe based on Icelandic capital, plans to construct two new hangars at Vilnius Airport for aircraft maintenance purposes.
Work on the first hangar will start this summer, and the facility will become operation by this autumn already.
The new facilities will allow flyLAL Technics to almost double its income from aircraft maintenance works, including 3rd party maintenance.
Among flyLAL's 3rd party maintenance customers are airBaltic, Belavia, Transaero, Regional, Georgian Airways, and TUI AG.
