Apr 27, 2006 (newstodate): flyLAL, formerly Lithuanian Airlines, has decided on an ambitious plan for air cargo growth and product development.
-In addition to our traditional general cargo product we will soon be marketing a new customised door-to-door service in cooperation with partners, aiming at both the European, the Far Eastern and the US markets, says Andrejus Trimailovas, Lithuanian Airlines cargo manager.
-So far door-to-door services have been provided by the integrators for small shipments and documents, but we are convinced that the market will welcome a similar product for larger shipments between 50 and a few hundred kilos as well.
-Also to come before the end of this year is a new internet-based IT system to provide a new and efficient marketing and sales channel of our products. We are currently evaluating solutions by various providers, and a decision is soon to be made.
-Also in the pipeline are new scheduled road-feeder services between Lithuania and the rest of Europe, to replace our current ad-hoc services, says mr Trimailovas.
