Apr 12, 2006 (newstodate): In March, Oslo Gardermoen Airport saw its total cargo volumes up by 20.8 percent.
The airport generated 8,676 tonnes of cargo and mail, including 6,586 tonnes of international cargo and mail, up 26.4 percent y-o-y.
During this year's Q1, the accumulated growth is 15.9 percent, to 22,840 tonnes of cargo and mail.
The strong increase is driven by the ever-growing volumes of Norwegian salmon exports to Asian markets.
In September, 2005, Lufthansa Cargo/Japan Airlines Cargo introduced a twice-weekly joint freighter service from Oslo to Nagoy, Japan, alongside Korean Air Cargo's twice-weekly service from Oslo to Korea, and Aeroflot's twice-weekly service to Osaka, Japan.
