Apr 4, 2006 (newstodate): Russian red tape still blocks Cathay Pacific from starting their long-overdue route from Hong Kong via Moscow to Manchester.
The issue also failed to find a solution the the latest round of talks between Hong Kong and Russian negotiators in March, further postponing the launch of the route.
The route was announced in December, 2005, and was slated to start by the introduction of the summer schedule, effective March 27, 2006.
Since June 2, 2004, Cathay Pacific has operated a codeshare service between Hong Kong and Moscow together with and operated by Aeroflot, and the planned new CX operation will also fall under the code-share agreement.
