Mar 7, 2006 (newstodate): Russian airlines Ural Air Lines and Perm Air Lines have signed an agreement to jointly develop their route networks.
The agreement will solve Perm Air Lines' problem with an ageing fleet of Soviet-built aircraft that will be phased out with two or three years.
In contrast, Ural Air Lines currently operates a total of 23 aircraft including IL-86, TU-154M, TU-154B, and AN-24 with an average fleet age of 15 years.
In 2006, Ural Air Lines will also add three A320 aircraft on a lease contract, with more to follow.
