Mar 8, 2006 (newstodate): In January, Exel Freight Management topped IATA's top-10 list of export air cargo forwarders.
The company generated a total of 1,767 tonnes of cargo, up 19.9 percent y-o-y.
By contrast, the market was down 1.7 percent.
Growth-wise, Exel was, however, overtaken by no 9 on the list, Expeditors International Sweden that grew its IATA export sales volumes by 135.1 percent, to 147 tonnes.
No 5 on the list, DFDS Transport also grew significantly - up 134.5 percent to 429 tonnes , probably driven by its Polar Air Cargo charter flights out of Malmoe in Southern Sweden.
Finally, Schenker International also managed to up its volumes by 7.4 percent to 258 tonnes, securing a position as no 7.
Wilson Logistics/TNT Freight Management, Panalpina, Danzas AEI, Kuehne & Nagel, BAX Global, and Expeditors - all on the top-10 list -saw negative growth in volumes during January.
