Mar 16, 2006 (newstodate): On Saturday, March 18, Sweden's Malmo Sturup Airport will receive its first MD-11F from Shanghai via Dubai.
The aircraft, lifting some 80 tonnes on the first flight, has been chartered from Malaysian wet-lease carrier Transmile, with headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
The imports-driven service will operate once-weekly with shipments from China, while the return flight routes will vary according to market demands.
On the first return flight, the MD-11F will fly to Kuala Lumpur via Dakka, sources say.
Transmile's freighter fleet now comprises four MD11, ten B727, four B737 and two Cessna 208B aircraft.
