Mar 2, 2006 (newstodate): Poland's John Paul II International Airport Krakow-Balice has published a two-year development plan to increase annual capacity to three million passengers.
Included in the plan are implementation of Schengen measures, modernisation of technical support facilities, a new observation tower for the firefighting services, a new arrival hall, and expansion of the aircraft apron area.
Work has now started to find the financial means for the modernisation program from EU and other funds.
