Mar 6, 2006 (newstodate): In 2005, the specialised Norwegian freight forwarder DHL Danzas Quality Cargo lifted a total of 31,000 tonnes of fresh salmon to the Far Eastern markets.
-This was an increase by 10 percent, compared to 2004, and the positive trend has continued into 2006, says Knut Dreier, DHL Danzas Quality Cargo managing director.
-The increase was above budgets and indicates that we have gained in market share as the total export volumes grew at a lower rate, he says.
According to Mr Dreier, the Japanese market, while still by far the single largest, remains rather stagnating while the growth is primarily driven by Chinese comsumption of Norwegian fresh salmon.
