Norwegian Air Shuttle has announced plans for starting thrice-weekly flights on a direct route between Oslo and St Petersburg from May 3.
The carrier obtained traffic rights between Russia and Norway in January, and plans are already maturing for more destinations in Russia, including Moscow.
From this summer's schedule, Norwegian will open a number of new destinations in Eastern Europe including daily flights from Oslo to Prague, Warsaw and Budapest, and five weekly flights to Cracow.
The carrier also flies to Gdansk, upping frequency from two to three weekly operations from this spring, and operates a thrice-weekly route to Riga.
